ALSTEAD, N.H. The Reverend Mary Haas, 89, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Springfield Hospital, Springfield, VT. She was born to LeRoy Moses Lake and Marien (Charland) Lake of Brentwood, N.H. Mary attended Sanborn Academy in Exeter, N.H. She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp in WWII. She was a proud active member of Immanuel Episcopal Church in Bellows Falls, VT. She was ordained a deacon June of 2003. She ran the Greater Falls Community Kitchen for 25 years from Dec. 4, 1989 to Dec. 8, 2014. Mary worked at Sylvania in Hillsborough, N.H., Walpole Wire, N. Walpole, N.H. and McGuir's Nursing Home Bellows Falls, VT. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, and Oma (grandmother). She is survived by her husband, Charles Haas of Alstead, N.H. Her children; Carolee Murchie, Marien Gage, Gordon Goodell, Dorothy Hescock, John Goodell, LeAnn Winter, Richard Haas, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, neices, nephews and lots of love-in-laws she called her own. She is predeceased be her parents, LeRoy Lake and Marien Thurston, husband, Leon Goodell, sister, Shirley Goodrich, son, Alfred (Butch) Goodell and granddaughter, Jennifer Lea Haas. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service is Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. Services will be held at Immanuel Episcopal Church in Bellows Falls, VT. Calling hours are Thursday evening May 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Alstead Food Shelf, Alstead, N.H. Donations can either be monetary, non-perishable food items or health and beauty aids.
