1928-2015 Brattleboro- Nancy Laura Campbell, 87, of Canal Street, a longtime resident of town died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, September 23, 2015 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Campbell was born in Champlain, New York on September 18, 1928. The daughter of Halsey and Eva (Jarvis) Benjamin. She was raised and educated in Brattleboro attending Saint Michael's Parochial School and was a graduate of Saint Michael's High School, Class of 1948. She had been employed for many years at the former American Optical Co. and previously worked at the former First National Store, Amp Keyboards and Walker's Restaurant. Mrs. Campbell was a communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church. Of her pastimes and interests she enjoyed playing BINGO, candlepin bowling, and time shared with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Campbell followed sports and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. On May 14, 1949 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church she was married to Arthur D. Campbell who predeceased her on April 9, 2004. Survivors include three sons, Arthur Campbell, Jr. of Brattleboro, Christopher Campbell of East Dennis, MA and Mark Campbell of Brattleboro; two daughters, Susan Campbell and Nancy Kerylow both of Brattleboro; three brothers, David Benjamin of Westfield, MA, Clayton Benjamin of Hinsdale and Gerald Benjamin of Brattleboro; one sister, Marie Wright of Bennington; 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Committal Rites and burial will follow in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mrs. Campbell's name may be made to Saint Michael's School, 47 Walnut Street, Brattleboro 05301, attn: Elaine Beam, Principal.
