Olive I. Temple Obituary
Brattleboro - Olive I. Temple, 86, of Putney, went to be with her Lord on Friday morning, October 20, 2017 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health.

Olive was born in Pottersdale, Pennsylvania on December 23, 1930, the daughter of Bruce and Theona (Lucas) Wooster. She was raised and educated in Pottersdale then graduated from Nyack (NY) College where she earned her BA in Christian Education.

Olive served as secretary of the family business, Temple Plumbing & Heating, for many years. She was a faithful and devoted homemaker whose life centered around her family.

Steadfast in her walk of faith, she was a longtime member of the Green Mountain Chapel in Brattleboro where she served as Bible study leader, Sunday School teacher, deaconess, and church librarian for many years.

She was known for her kindness, a sweet spirit of friendship, her cheerful personality and beautiful smile. Her grandchildren fondly call her "sassy."

Among her interests, Olive enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, shopping, yard sales, and collected antique salt cellars. Olive loved taking day trips with her husband and eating out. She loved time shared with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On May 9, 1958 at the Pottersdale (PA) Alliance Church, Olive married Francis E. Temple who survives.

Besides her loving husband of 59 years, Olive leaves two sons, Bradley Temple and Dale Temple, both of Putney, one daughter, Marcia Rothra of Raleigh, North Carolina, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Norman, Donald and Warren Wooster.

SERVICES: A celebration of Olive's life will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the Green Mountain Chapel on Western Avenue with Pastor Bill Steele officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Putney.
