Patrick E. Mulhall

1947-2013 BRATTLEBORO Patrick E. "Paddy" Mulhall, 66 of Chestnut Street died suddenly Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Mulhall was born in Astoria, Queens, N.Y. on July 22, 1947 the son of Thomas and Mary (Egan) Mulhall. He was raised in Astoria attending Most Precious Blood Parochial School, graduating from Thomas Edison High School in Queens, Class of 1965. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving three years active duty with a tour in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from active service at the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Mulhall had been employed at the Brattleboro Retreat as a plant engineer for over 20 years. Previously he worked as a plant engineer at various hospitals in New Jersey including Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck. A resident of Brattleboro for the past 14 years, he was a former resident of West Dover where he was an active volunteer on the West Dover Fire Dept. He was a past Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus, Leo Council #917 and a Fourth Degree member, Leo Assembly #1154. He was also a past member of the VFW in Brattleboro. Mr. Mulhall enjoyed genealogy and was very proud of his Irish heritage. He enjoyed travel, playing cards and was known for his story telling abilities. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees and New England Patriots fan. He was first married to Wendy Elmquist who is deceased. He later married Kelley Patrick in West Dover on November 21, 1997. Besides his loving wife of 15 years he leaves four daughters, Kendra Mulhall at home, Shannon Simonelli of Fresno, CA, Colleen Briski of Westminster, CA and Heather Mulhall of Brattleboro, one brother, John Mulhall of Winter Haven, FL, and four grandchildren. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Andrew Mulhall and a sister Mary Thomas. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church with Rev. James Dodson, celebrant. Burial with full military honors will be in Long Island (NY) National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mr. Mulhall's name may be made to a .
