1929 - 2015 BELLOWS FALLS, VT. Richard "Sonny" "Hoosie" Hoose, 85, of School Street, formerly of Westminster, died Monday, October 26, 2015. Mr. Hoose was born in Fairfax, VT on December 23, 1929 the son of Richard and Stella (Greenwood) Hoose. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for Putney Paper and, after retirement, drove for Brattleboro Chrysler. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Bellows Falls and a member of the American Legion in Bellows Falls. On November 30, 1957 he married Elaine Marie Sumner who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Joan Hoose & Dwight Hanson of Keene, NH, Debi Butler & husband Don of Bellows Falls, and Stella Hoose & Tom Hutchins of Bellows Falls; his brother, James Hoose & wife, Joyce of Highgate Center, VT; his sisters, Betty Mack of Walpole, NH and Marguerite Hoose of Rutland, VT; grandchildren, Caroline Fox, Heather Brown, Richard Ng, Bridget Hoose, Amanda Swanson, Lars Swanson, Thomas Hutchins, Tiffany Hoose, Holly Prue; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his great-grandson, Lucas Dion, and his brothers and sisters, Francis and Alvin Hoose, Rena Bruley, Marjorie Heath, Helen Raymond, and Gertrude and Violet Hoose. SERVICES: There will be a memorial service at 2p.m. Saturday, October 31st at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls, VT with burial to follow in the Westminster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Legion Scholarship or to the Boys & Girls Club of America.
