Sandra C. Emery

1940 - 2013 VERNON VERNON - Sandra C. Emery, 72, of Hickory Hollow Road, died Friday morning, April 26, 2013, at the Vernon Green Nursing Home in Vernon.
She was born in St. Albans on July 29, 1940, daughter of John and Blanche (Lucia) Calouri. She was the stepdaughter to Charles Dwyer Sr. As a child, she lived with her grandmother in Maine.
She married Jim Moore in North Carolina on Dec. 10, 1956, and they later moved to Vermont. Mr. Moore predeceased her.
She was then married to Jackson C. Emery on Nov. 9, 1974.
She worked in several area restaurants in many capacities, including cook.
An avid knitter, all family and friends' babies were welcomed home with a sweater set and blanket made with love. She also enjoyed canning and cooking. There was always something cooking on the stove and a table full of food whenever company stopped by. She was very well known for her delicious "Grams" Famous Fudge.
She is survived by her husband, Jackson; children, Donnell Moore of Dublin, N.H., Jeff Moore of Gulf Port, Fla., Terri Barrett and her husband, Will, of Brattleboro, Michael Grimes and his partner, Michael, of Stratford, Conn.; stepchildren, David Emery and his wife, Shirley, of Brattleboro, Douglas Emery of and his wife, Brenda, of Vernon, Jackson Emery and his wife, Carlene, of Bourne, Mass., and Robert McAuliffe and his wife, Stella, of Lowell, Mass.; a sister, Betty Tracey of Brattleboro; a stepbrother, Charles Dwyer Jr., and his wife, Joan, of Las Vegas, Nev.; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Charlene Bartlett, and by a stepson, Paul McAuliffe.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the KIDDER FUNERAL HOME, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Mass. The Rev. Rich O'Donnell of St. Michael's Church in Brattleboro will officiate. Burial will follow in Tyler Cemetery, Vernon. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
