Sharon Mulligan Obituary
Sharon Lou Mulligan

1940-2014 Sharon Lou Mulligan, the wife of John Edward Mulligan Sr., passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Her strength and solid faith was the cornerstone of her daily walk. A true servant, a selfless mother, and a friend to all. Sharon was born in Greenfield, MA on September 24, 1940, daughter of the late William and Ruth Diggins. She attended Greenfield High School and then proceeded to study nursing at Westfield State where she formed a heart for serving others. In this season of her life she met her husband of 53 years and was united in marriage on November 5, 1960. Sharon continued to serve others as a nurse at Farren Hospital and in later years volunteered at Academy School in West Brattleboro, VT. Sharon was a prayer warrior, a woman of humble faith, and a pillar of strength to her family. Blessed to be able to transition to eternity, she took her last breath and as her eyes shut to this world they opened to her radiant king. The God whose selfless love made her whole, and who brought her into the fullness of life. Sharon's life of faith created a legacy of believers. In addition to her husband, Sharon leaves behind her four children: John Edward Mulligan Jr. and wife Carin, Wendy Lee Lynde and husband Steven, William Joseph Mulligan, Vicky Lynn Jelley and husband Ralph; her brother Brian Francis Diggins and wife Candace; her grandchildren Jennifer Harris, Joshua Mulligan, John Mulligan III, Aubree Bucci, Jules Weir, Kylie Mones, Kia Jelley, and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her nephew Joseph Diggins and granddaughter Alisha Mulligan. FUNERAL NOTICE: In honor of Sharon's passing we invite you to come celebrate her life on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Brattleboro Baptist Church, luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Comfort Care Fund, through the People's United Bank via the Sharon Mulligan Fund.
