Susan Snow Obituary
Putney - Susan C. Snow, 79, of Frost Road in Putney, died Saturday morning, December 3, 2016 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center following a short period of declining health.

Mrs. Snow was born in Wilmington on April 5, 1937, the daughter of Theodore and Myrtle (Shippee) Ray. She was raised in Dover on the Shippee Homestead and was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1955.

She had been employed as a postal clerk working in the Putney Post Office where she retired from. Previously she had worked at Basketville, the former H. Margolin's Pocketbook Shop, former Skyline Restaurant and Holstein-Friesian Association.

Active civically, she served as a special deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Department and was a member of the Putney Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She also held membership in the V.F.W Auxiliary, Carl M. Dessaint Post #1034.

Mrs. Snow had attended the former Putney Federated Church and more recently Windham Community Chapel.

She was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed dancing, fishing (especially in Pittsburgh, N.H.), spending time at her family's camp in Dover and quality time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling and for many years was on the senior bowling league.

She was married to Raymond Snow of 52 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Mark Snow and Allen Snow both of Vernon; two daughters, Kim Fletcher and husband Skip of Dummerston and Pamela King and husband Brad of Putney; one brother, Marty Ray of Poultney, Vt.; a sister, Betsey Myers of York, Penn., six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Additionally she leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Theodore Ray, Jr. who died in infancy.

Graveside committal services will be conducted Friday at 11: 00 A.M. in Riverside Cemetery in Wilmington with Mr. Walter Roberts officiating. There are no calling hours.
