1939 - 2015 TOWNSHEND, VT. Susanna Palmer, age 76 passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, March 28, 2015. Susanna was born in East Meadow, Long Island, NY March 13, 1939 the daughter of Walter and Mina Emily (Miller) Seidler. Susanna graduated with a History Major in 1960 from Earlham College. Her objective in life was to help people in hard times. She had a long and dedicated career in the pursuit of that goal. She was a licensed private investigator for the state of Vermont from 2005 to present. She served as a Guardian ad Litem for the Windham County Family Court from 2003 to 2009. She Investigated child abuse for SRS/DCF from May 1986 to Sept. 2003. She also had worked at the Brattleboro Retreat as a counselor for adolescents and as a welfare worker for the State of Connecticut. Susanna loved her family and friends and she also enjoyed photography and advocating for the well-being of animals and was devoted to their causes. She is survived by her daughter, Kirsten Palmer, her sister, Priscilla Simmons, her niece, Connie Kattner, two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews from her predeceased nephew, Lindsay. One of her favorite quotes was "A good laugh and a good sleep are the two best cures for anything" SERVICES: A Celebration of her life will take place at the Adams Funeral Home, 35 Depot St., Chester, VT on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 a.m., where there will be a time to share memories of Susanna. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local horse rescue or any animal care fund. My mother's wishes were to do all that you can to help prevent the neglect and abuse of animals.
