Suzanne Mary "Sue" Zumbruski

1945 - 2015 VERNON Suzanne Mary, "Sue" Zumbruski, 69 of Franklin Road, a lifelong resident of the area died unexpectedly Thursday evening, May 7, at her home. Sue was born in Brattleboro on October 7, 1945 the daughter of Bernard and Alice (Hanley) Benjamin. She attended both Saint Michael's Parochial School and Brattleboro Union High School. At the time of her passing, Sue had been employed as a sales clerk/cashier at the Lipton/Shell Minimart on upper Canal Street starting work at the location over 20 years ago when it was originally owned by Fleming Oil Company. Previously she had worked at the former Henry's Fruitland on Upper Canal Street. She was a faithful and devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and a friend to many. Sue was a lifelong communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church. With her family she enjoyed spending time at her family's camp in Wells, Maine, enjoyed camping, word search puzzles, and time shared with her family especially her grandchildren. On June 12, 1965 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church she was married to George E. Zumbruski who survives. Besides her husband of almost 50 years she leaves one son, Michael Zumbruski and a daughter, Lisa Zumbuski, both of Vernon; a sister, Beverly Wyckoff of Brattleboro; two granddaughters, Rachel and Elizabeth Comtois, both of Westminster; and her two great-grandchildren, Logan and Cody. Additionally she leaves her special Dad, Alfred "Al" Hannett, of Brattleboro; many nieces and nephews; and her numerous morning customers from the minimart. In accordance with Sue's final wishes, there are no formal funeral services or calling hours scheduled. Anyone who would like to pay their respects are invited to visit with her family at their home on Franklin Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sue's name may be made to Saint Michael's School, 48 Walnut Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301, in care of Elaine Beam, Principal.
