Thomas Michael Moody Sr.

1956-2012 Thomas Michael Moody Sr., known as "Tuffy' to all, 56 of 36A Golden Hill Road, Rockingham, Vt., passed away August 31, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Springfield, Vt.

He was born on February 21, 1956 in Bellows Falls, Vt., to Frank St. Patrick Moody and Helen (Pencek) Moody. Tuffy received his education through the Bellows Falls school system. He worked most of his younger years in the family business before becoming employed for Brattleboro Haulage. Tuffy was a lover of life and his family was his world. He adored his children and grandchildren and loved to tell stories about them. Tuffy had a passion for fine motorcycles - Harleys, of course, and owned many through the years. If one were to say that a man's wealth is determined by the number of friends he has, Tuffy was truly a rich man. He was always there, no matter what time of the day or night, to assist a friend or to offer his home to somebody needing a place to stay. Tuffy was one of the finest horseshoe players around. He loved to spend summer afternoons playing shoes with his family and friends. He had an unmistakable laugh that none of us will soon forget. Tuffy was especially grateful for the time that he spent this past summer with Paula, his children, grandchildren and many friends at the lake.

Tuffy is survived by his mother of Rockingham, Vt.; his soul mate in life, Paula Martin, of Rockingham, Vt., who has been by his side for the past 35 years; his son, Thomas Michael Moody, Jr., and his wife, Lisa Hindes-Moody, of N. Walpole, N.H.; his daughter, Kari Bazin-Moody, of Rockingham, Vt.; his sister, Susan Matthews, and her husband, Arthur Matthews, of Newport, New Hampshire; and his sister, Debra Moody, of Bellows Falls, Vt. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Dominik Bazin; Thomas Michael Moody, III; Paige Moody and Lucas Moody and several nieces and nephews.

Tuffy was predeceased by his father; his sister, Sally Ann; and his daughter, Magen Moody.
