Thomas"Tom" Parmenter

1935 - 2015 BRATTLEBORO Thomas N. "Tom" Parmenter, 79 of Stockwell Drive, a lifelong resident of town died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 1, at his home after being stricken ill. Tom was born in Brattleboro on Sept. 5, 1935, the son of Robert and Mary (Coughlin) Parmen-ter. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro attending Saint Michael's Parochial and High School and was a lifelong communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church. Following high school he served with the Vermont National Guards. For many years he owned and operated Bolster Movers and previously worked as a salesman and route driver for C.H. Eddy Beverage Company which eventually became Leader Beverage. Most recently he had been employed on a part-time basis as a courier for Green Mountain Messenger. Throughout the years Tom owned many horses and was a member of the Eastern Draft Horse Association. He enjoyed attending local horse pulls and watching his daughter and grandchildren compete in horse shows. He loved animals and enjoyed time shared with his family, especially his grandchildren. On July 12, 1958, at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, he was married to Florence E. Eddy who survives. Besides his faithful and devoted wife of 58 years he leaves one daughter, Kelly Kruse and her husband, Paul, of Hinsdale; one sister, Nancy Kaeppel and husband, Robert, of Brattleboro; two grandchildren, Seth Thomas Kruse, and Emma Jean Kruse, both of Hinsdale. Additionally he leaves many nieces and nephews and his beloved Black Lab, "Annie." FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. James Dodson, pastor, celebrant. Committal Rites and burial will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the ATAMANIUK FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the start of the Mass.
