William H. "Billy" Vigneau, Jr., 62 of East Main Street in Orange died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Health Alliance-Leominster, (MA) Hospital.
Billy was born in Brattleboro on December 18, 1951 the son of William H. and Modesta (Engerman) Vigneau. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro and was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1969.
A resident of the Athol/Orange area for almost 30 years he had worked as a machinist for over 20 years for Starrett Tool Company in Athol. Following the death of his father he took over his late father's driving route for the Vermont Association for the Blind. In his earlier years he had worked at the former BookPress in Brattleboro.
Of his hobbies and interests, he owned a large collection of sports memorabilia, was a NASCAR enthusiast and New England Patriots fan. Billy also enjoyed playing BINGO and taking trips to the Foxwoods Casinos.
Survivors include his mother, Modesta of Vernon, one son, Caleb Vigneau of Gilmer, Texas, one brother, Timothy Vigneau of Putney, a sister, Kathy Vigneau of Brattleboro, and three grandchildren.
Additionally he leaves two nieces. Two nephews, one aunt and several cousins.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service and gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 25'Th at 11:00 A.M. at the V.F.W. Carl M. Dessaint Post #1034 on Black Mountain Road. A reception will follow the service.
Friends may call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Monday (2/24) from 6 to 8 P.M.
