Gail H. Zirkle

1948-2014 VERNON Gail H. Zirkle, 65, of Pond Road went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, May 30, 2014 at her home. Her passing was unexpected. Gail was born in Newport, Vt. on October 31, 1948, the daughter of Stanley and Winnie Scott Gallup. She was raised and educated in Holyoke, Mass. and was a graduate of Holyoke High School, class of 1966. She had been employed at her family's business, Holyoke Memorials, one of Hampden County's premier cemetery monument companies which she operated with her bother. Previously she was store manager at the A.R. Sandri Convenience Store located on Putney Road in Brattleboro. Gail also worked for a time at the Holstein-Frisian Association in Brattleboro. Gail was a faithful and devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. A devout Christian, she was steadfast in her walk of faith and was very active within her church, The Whetstone Church of Brattleboro. Throughout the years she hosted many Bible studies in the comfort of her home. She was a former member of F.O. Eagles, Brattleboro Aerie #2445. On October 25, 1998 at the Pond Road Chapel in Vernon she was married to Charles "Chuck" Zirkle who survives. Besides her devoted husband of 15 years she leaves one son, Randy Willette and his wife, Corina of Ossipee, N.H.; her mother of Holyoke; one step-son, Charles Zirkle, III of Winchester, N.H.; two step-daughters, Julie Moorehead of Sprinfield, Vt. and Michelle Russell of Keene; four brothers, Edward Gallup of Westfield, Mass., Brian Gallup of Holyoke, Douglas Gallup of Chicopee and Sherman Gallup of East Grand Forks, Minn.; and three sisters, Sharon Robertson and Wendy Hocog, both of Holyoke, and Lou Ann Gallup of Westfield. Additionally she is survived by three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren, Tyler, Shayla, Aaron, Samuel, Alexandria, Keith, Ryan, Tyler, Shiane, and Veronica. She was predeceased by her father. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services in celebration of her life will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the Whetstone Church on Birge Street. Burial will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Irasburg Cemetery in Irasburg, Vt.
