Angelina Mary Sadd

1921 - 2014 SIDNEY, MAINE Angelina Mary "Angie" Sadd, 93, of Meadowbrook Road, died Thursday night, June 19, 2014, in the comfort of her daughter's home in Sidney. Mrs. Sadd was born at the former Melrose Hospital on Western Avenue in West Brattleboro on March 9, 1921, the daughter of John and Regina (Mancini) Madau. She attended Saint Michael's Parochial School and Green Street School and soon after went to work full time at the tender age of 16. She had been employed for 48 continuous years at the former H. Margolin Pocketbook Shop on Upper Canal Street working as an inspector. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Sadd had been a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Ave Maria Circle #128 and held membership in the American Legion Brattleboro Post #5 Auxiliary. She was an accomplished archer and competed in many regional tournaments throughout the years. Of her other leisure time activities, she enjoyed camping, flower gardening and needlework. She was also known for her excellent Italian cooking. On Oct. 12, 1941, at Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church she was married to Paul Sadd. Her husband of 65 years predeceased her in May of 2007. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Drake of Sidney; one sister, Mary Weiner of Keene; two grandsons, John Drake of Keene and Kenneth Drake of Hinsdale, four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Landon, Dylan and Skye Drake, and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, she leaves her close friends, Anita Bobee and Donald Dompier. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. James Dodson, pastor, celebrant. Committal Rites and burial will follow in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the start of the Mass. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Sadd's name may be made to Saint Michael's School, 48 Walnut Street, Brattleboro, VT. 05301 Attn: Elaine Beam, Principal.
