He was born in Readsboro, on Dec. 30, 1926, son of Celso "Tony" and Teresa (Colo) Marchegiani. He attended local schools. Tullio joined the United States Navy in Mar. 1945. After basic training in New York state, he was stationed on the Marshall Islands in the Pacific. After his honorable discharge in July 1946, he returned to Readsboro and worked many years at the Readsboro Chair Co./Vermont Hardwoods. He also worked several years at Deerfield Specialty Papers in Monroe Bridge. He retired in 1989 from Codogni & Son Plumbing. During his retirement, he enjoyed many hours and every deer season at Camp Zinfandel. In later years, he enjoyed company around his dining room table at home, sharing coffee royals with his friends and telling stories. He loved to hunt, especially for rabbits and birds, and fishing for brook trout. He loved people and everyone he knew was a good friend. He loved music, dancing and going to parties, but most of all, he loved his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, the former Esther Scaia of Readsboro; his son Dale of Readsboro; his daughter Kim, and husband, Stan McGowen of Maine; a very special person in his life, his grandson, Bradley of Readsboro; his sister, Ada Libardi and husband, Eugene of Readsboro; his step grandchildren Arick McGowen and Dr. Afton Thompson; his step great-granddaughter Evelyn Rose Thompson; as well as treasured sisters and brothers in law, and nieces and nephews spanning several generations. He was predeceased by his sister, Dirce Sanderson of Chester, Mass.; two brothers, Joseph and Norman of Readsboro; and his daughter-in-law, Vickey.
