David Paul Weaver BRATTLEBORO David Paul Weaver, 65, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.David was born in Brattleboro, the son of Quentin and Eve Weaver. He attended Pioneer Valley Regional School and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing and working in his vegetable garden. David was also a huge Red Sox fan and an even bigger Patriots fan. He was a self employed painter, owner of Dave's Painting in Brattleboro. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. For 33 years Dave has coached his own Small Fry team, Dave's Painting, and was recently recognized by having a dugout named in his honor. He was on the board of the Westgate Tenant's Association and was instrumental in Westgate becoming tenant-owned. He was the coordinator of Save of Homes as well as served on the board, was a board member of Westgate Housing Inc., he was the Brattleboro town service officer for many years and was also president of CABA. On April 30, 2012, David was recognized for his contributions by receiving the SEVCA Community Catalyst Award at a ceremony in Chester and was later recognized by Brattleboro Area Affordable Housing for all his 16 years of tireless community work. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Weaver of Brattleboro; his daughters, Suanne Cross and her partner James Buck of Vernon, and Deborah Spindler and her husband Craig of Hinsdale, N.H.; his grandchildren, Tiffany and Tasha Cross of Vernon, Sarah and Kelsey Spindler of Hinsdale; and many nieces, nephews and friends. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles on Chickering Drive in Brattleboro. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Ker Westerlund Funeral Home.
