Peter Bover Obituary
Peter L. Bover

1951 - 2013 VERNON, VT Peter Louis Bover of Vernon, born on August 17, 1951, son of Harold and Anna (Gembarowski) Bover, passed away on Friday, Feb. 8th, 2013 at the Pine Heights at Brattleboro, after a long battle with cancer.

Peter was active in the B.O.C. Junior Ski-jumping program and jumped Harris Hill at age 13. At the young age of 14 he became a member of the "Sprites," a popular local pop band. When he was 18 he played bass in "Fox Chase," a band with Steve Tallarico, who later became Steve Tyler of Aerosmith.

Peter attended Lyndon State College and Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Peter had many talents, but it was his musical talents that were most exceptional and versatile. He played flute, drums and guitar. Following his years at college, Peter spent six years on the road with Sugar Cane, a Latino Vegas style show band touring North America, as well as Panama and Puerto Rico. He also did recording session work and in 1981 played the bass tracks on Albert Crabtree's "Cold Steel" album.

Peter worked at various jobs including driving taxi in New York City, L. E. Weed & Son Concrete Products and most recently with J&J Discount of Keene, NH. Whatever job Peter had, he loved to tell humorous stories about his different experiences.

Peter is survived by his son, Jacob Bover of Brattleboro; three sisters, Joyce Cook of Fiskdale, MA., Irene Hull of Grayland, WA., Ann Reed of Brattleboro, VT.; and three brothers, Charles of San Diego, CA., Raymond of Vernon, and Douglas of Groton, MA. He is predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Kaye and Gloria Brooks, and both his parents.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: A celebration of his life will be held at the Eagles, 54 Chickering Drive, Brattleboro, VT on Friday Feb.22 from 6 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to his son, Jacob Bover, in care of Ann Reed, 79 Garfield DR. Apt. #2, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
