Aaron Ellsworth "Cy" Struthers

1927 - 2013 VERNON Aaron Ellsworth "Cy" Struthers, 86, formerly of Regina Vista Road in West Brattleboro, died peacefully early Friday morning, April 5, 2013, at Vernon Green Nursing Home, following a period of declining health.

Mr. Struthers was born in Brattleboro on Oct. 6, 1927, the son of Clarence and Fanny (Adams) Struthers. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro ,attending Academy School and Brattleboro High School.

He had worked as a mechanic for the former BookPress in Brattleboro for over 18 years, retiring from the company in 1990. Previously, for 18 years, he had been employed at the former Crosby Milling Co. also in Brattleboro. In between his positions at the BookPress and Crosby, he drove truck for Maple Farms Dairy.

He was a longtime member of First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro and was active in church activities for many years.

Of his leisure time activities he enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He also liked music, playing the guitar and travel.

On June 22, 1946, in Brattleboro, he was married to Beatrice Fisher who predeceased him on Feb. 3, 2001. He later married Brittany Olliver in Brattleboro on Dec. 31, 2010.

Besides his wife of over two years, he leaves one daughter, Sharyl "Sherry" Lenkowski, and her husband, Tom of Bennington, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Aaron E. Struthers, who died in November 2012.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church with Pastor Joseph Amico officiating. Burial will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery on Orchard Street.Friends are invited to call at the ATAMANIUK FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
