1974 - 2013 BRATTLEBORO James Patrick "Jimmie" Foley, 39, of Putney Road, died late Monday morning, April 29, 2013, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., following a very lengthy illness.
Jimmie was born in Brattleboro on April 12, 1974, the son of James L. and Michele (Momaney) Foley. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro, attending Oak Grove School and Brattleboro Union High School.
Afflicted with cancer since the age of 14, in dealing with the severity of his illness, he never complained but always had a positive outlook. He always saw the shiny side of a rusty nail.
An ardent outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and and time spent with nature. He also loved playing cribbage and time shared with his many friends.
He was an excellent pool player, active throughout the years in several local billiard leagues and was a member of the American Billiard Association. Locally he held membership in the F.O. Eagles, Brattleboro Aerie #2445.
Survivors include his parents of Brattleboro; two sisters, Kathleen Foley and Kelly Foley both of Guilford; three nephews, Matthew, Zachary and Brandon; two nieces, Callie and Jillian, and several aunts, uncles and many cousins. Additionally he leaves a large host of close friends and acquaintances.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard O'Donnell, V.F. Pastor Celebrant. Committal Rites and burial will follow in the Foley family lot in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
