1949-2013 VERNON Stephen Richard, "Steve" Rinfret, 64, of Rinfret Drive died unexpectedly Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home.
Steve was born in Brattleboro on June 5, 1949 the son of Joseph and Isabelle (Annis) Rinfret, Jr. He was raised and educated in Vernon and was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1967. He went on to attend New Hampshire Technical College in Manchester.
A veteran of the Vietnam War he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was stationed in Vietnam.
Steve had been employed for almost 20 years for the town of Brattleboro as a plant mechanic at its municipal water treatment plant. Previously he had worked as a logger for Rinfret Logging in Vernon.
Steve enjoyed tinkering on his trucks, (always a GM product), hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include on son, Michael Rinfret of Saxtons River, his mother of Vernon, three brothers, Joseph Rinfret, III and David Rinfret both of Vernon, and Patrick Rinfret of Denver, CO. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and several cousins.
He was predeceased by one brother, Daniel Rinfret, a sister, Eileen Rinfret and his father.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services with full military honors will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in Tyler Cemetery in Vernon. A reception will follow the services at his home on Rinfret Drive.
