Doris Kirsch

Doris M. Kirsch, 88, of Broomfield, Colorado passed away on December 15, 2012 at Balfour Senior Center in Louisville. Born July 21, 1924 in Yale, Oklahoma, she is predeceased by her parents, Joel and Goldie Cable, her brother Richard Cable, her sister Margaret Postelwaite, and her late husband of 67 years, Edward P. Kirsch of Broomfield, Colorado. Doris was a homemaker for most of her life, but also was a police officer for the Broomfield Police Department for many years. She was a devoted member, from its inception, of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Broomfield during her life, as well as a devoted bridge player. Doris and Ed lived in Broomfield since 1958, and was an avid participant in the Red Hat Society. After retirement, they became snowbirds, travelling between Broomfield and Mesa, Arizona. Doris enjoyed socializing with her many friends in both locales. Her friends have said she was warm and inviting; always open to host the next party or social gathering. She was a master gardener, growing huge tomatoes and wonderful zucchinis. She prided herself on her cooking. Her family always loved her corn bread, gravy, and chocolate cake! Survivors include her brother, Raymond Cable, and her children: Michael Kirsch of Casa Grande, AZ, Keith Kirsch (Janet) of Lakeport, CA, and Cheryl Nelson (Tom) of Broomfield, CO. Surviving grandchildren include Eric and Andreas Kirsch (Sweden), Alan and Emily Kirsch (California), and Michael and Kellie Nelson (Colorado). Doris also has one great grandchild, Sondra Kirsch (Sweden). Memorial services will be held at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Broomfield, CO on December 21 at 10:00am with the Reverend Kim Seidman officiating, followed by a short reception at the Church.
