Evelyn Juanita Barnes passed away on March 18, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born April 8, 1934 in Binghamton, NY to Kenneth and Mary (Juanita) Cole. She married Charles Barnes on February 7, 1953. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1957 and purchased a home in Arvada, Colorado. After a brief move back to Binghamton, they settled in Broomfield Colorado in 1968 and had lived there since. Evelyn worked outside the home on several occasions but her primary occupation was that of wife, mother and caregiver. She dedicated herself to the care of her youngest child, Judy, who was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age four. In later years, she became full time caregiver for her husband Charles until his death in 2004. Evelyn lived her life with unsurpassed grace and dignity. She always put others first. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always saw the best in others. She loved reading and her gardening. In her younger days, she sewed and enjoyed crocheting (talents that she handed down to her daughters). She was a wonderful cook and knew how to stretch a budget. Through many camping trips, she taught her children to appreciate nature. The road trips she took with her husband were not about the destination but about the journey itself. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, Broomfield, CO. Evelyn is survived by her children, Daniel L. Barnes of Lusby MD, Theresa A. Webb of Erie, (Terry Webb), Susan E. Meehan of Broomfield (Victor Meehan) and Cynthia M. Findley of Thornton (Terry Findley), ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, her brothers, Harold Cole (Conklin NY), Kenneth Cole (Binghamton, NY) Richard Cole (Port Crane, NY) and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barnes, her daughter, Judith Bazor, her brother, Robert Cole and her great-grandson, Vincent Valadez.
