My deepest condolences to the Avila family. I cannot remember a time in my life where Cecil was not a fixture. A true friend, he was always there for others, in their time of need, with a prayer, a kind word or a friendly joke; he will be sorely missed. May the Lord quiet your hearts and ease your grief at Cecil's absence, but grieve not for Cecil, he waits for us to join him in paradise at the time of the resurrection.

Cecil was a kind, genuine man that would always look for ways to help others. Always devoted to the Propeller Club, he found ways to see it reach the potential of what it was meant to be; to join the port community as a family. He touched many hearts and great memories were made. May he rest in peace, my sincere condolences to the Avila Family and please know that we all thought of him as a great man.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Cecil's departure. We never did meet face to face, but I worked with him on many shipping projects for every one of those 28 years and more if memory serves me right. He was always my ' GO TO ' guy in South Texas. He was very well known and very well respected in the maritime industry. Not only in the Gulf of Mexico but world wide. He was an asset to the entire industry and he will be sorely missed by all of us.

Even though we left Brownsville many years ago, my wife and I were deeply saddened by the news of Cecil's passing. When we visited family in Brownsville and ran into Cecil, he was always a joy to visit and reminisce with, about the old days when we all worked together at the port. Cecil was a genuine and authentic, loving friend. We treasure him and no doubt all who knew him did, and he will be deeply missed by so many. Our most heartfelt condolences to Cecil's wife, children and family for their loss. May the good Lord give you all inner and outer strength and peace during this difficult time of loss. Hector and Melanie (Ostos) Gonzalez, and family. Houston, TX.

My most profound sympathy and condolences to the family. I first met Cecilio about 35 years ago when as a very young man working for Philen's
i believe..... he would come on business to my store City Drug Store. I was always very impressed with his good manners, patience and politeness. We would run into each other thru the passing years and I continued to be impressed. He always had the time to inquire about my family. I was last with Cecilio when he served as a team member and one of my mentors during an ACTS retreat. You will be greatly missed, brother. Vince Crixell RPH

I am so terribly sorry for your loss of a very special man. Many Sundays I sat with Cecil as he devotedly brought pan dulce and visited with Dad. He was one of the best persons I ever knew. He will be missed, but always in our hearts and minds. I wish the family healing with time and faith. Cecil was surely a man of faith which spoke in his deeds and demeanor.

I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the Avila Family. Cecilio will always be remembered as a kind hearted, thoughtful, generous friend to all he knew. I met Cecilio three years ago at a Primerica Insurance business meeting. As long as I've had the pleasure to know Cecilio, he was always quick to extend a hand to others in need. He always spoke kindly about others and he loved to talk about his family. He especially shared about his mother, his children and grandchildren. Cecilio will be greatly missed. I will keep his wife and all of the Avila family in prayer.
My friend, may you rest in eternal peace in the arms of Our Dear Lord Jesus Christ.
Your Friend,
