MARTINEZ, ARTURO  
Arturo Martinez, 74, entered into eternal life on Feb. 28, 2015 in Edinburg, Texas. Mr. Martinez served as a police officer in Brownsville, Texas, a patrolman and then later was promoted to Seargent which continued to service for 18 years. He served for 30 years in US Custom where he was stationed at Roma Bridge. Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his wife; Olivia V. Martinez, parents; Horacio and Josefina M. Martinez, brothers; Horacio Martinez, Ramiro Martinez, Roberto Martinez and Rolando Martinez, sisters; Graciela Martinez and Paula M. Hamby. Survivors to cherish many memories are 4 sons; Arturo Martinez Jr., Jerry Martinez, David Martinez and Rene Martinez, sisters; Palmira M. Conejo and Amalia M. Davis, a brother; Jesus M. Martinez, several nieces and nephews. Visitation today Monday, March 2, 2015 with a rosary at 7p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home North Chapel. Inurnment will be at Buena Vista Burial Park Wed., March 4, 2015 at 3 p.m. with Military Honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2045. Melquiades Pineda, 97, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 in Brownsville, Texas. "Hay tantas cosas hermosas por las que alabar al Señor y una de las mas preciosas, es el regalo de tu amor en mi vida." Melquiades Pineda was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and an exceptional carpenter and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents; Margarito Pineda and Sofia Sanchez, and his first wife Flavia A. Pineda. Mr. Pineda is survived by his wife Maria Consuelo Vela Pineda, his three sons; Jose Luis (Guadalupe Reyes+) Pineda, Antonio (Elida Teran) Pineda, Fernando Pineda, his daughter; Guadalupe P. (Jose C.) Irene Anzaldua Ramirez, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso Ramirez, her parents; Emilia Mendez and Nisieforo Anzaldua, daughter Emilia Rosario Hyde, sister Olivia Anzaldua Perez and her three brothers Israel, Leonel and Adolfo Anzaldua. Mrs. Ramirez is survived by Ercilia Catalina Ramirez her daughter, Lynn (Roberto) Rodriguez, Anna Maria (Vicente) Cisneros, Maria Luisa (David V.) Guerrero, her brother Jose Anzaldua, her three sisters Alica Hinojosa, Maria Olaya Lopez and Minerva Arizmendi, she also leaves 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 with a Rosary to be conducted at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel. RENDON, DENNIS  
Dennis Rendon, 63, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dennis was born in November of 1951 in Dallas, Texas and was a proud member of the Brownsville community for over 40 years. Dennis shared a loving bond with his wife Juanita that started in high school and adored his daughter Kaliea. He was the ultimate son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Dennis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had worked in law enforcement for many years. Dennis along with other family members helped shape the development of the New York Deli Restaurants. In 1999, Dennis founded the Island Riders that evolved into "Los Escondidos M/C". Los Escondidos not only loved to ride their Harley Davidson motorcycles but could often be found participating in raising funds for Monica's House and or other charity causes for children. They were the first to participate in honoring "fallen soldiers" or patriotic events. When Dennis wasn't riding his Harley, he was probably spending time and training his German Shepherds. Dennis was also a long standing member of the Elks Lodge. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Fred Rendon Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Juanita; a daughter Kaliea; his mother Teresa, his sister, Argentina (Jose) Guerra; his brothers: Fred (Nelda), Gilbert (Christine) and Art (Nora) as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today, Monday, March 2, 2015 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgical Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 555 West St. Francis St. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. The VFW Funeral Honor Guard will render military honors at the graveside. Gilbert Rendon Jr., Guillermo Guajardo, David Guajardo, John L. Rendon, Esteban Guerra, Benny Rendon, Aaron Rendon, Jose "Pepito" Guerra and Freddy Rendon are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved uncle. Bobby Lerma, Al Cacase, Reggie Van Holsbeck, Merlin Rasco, Dr. Manuel Guajardo, Dr. Patrick Burchfield, Ben Neece, Ray Lopez and all members of the "Los Escondidos M/C" will serve as honorary pallbearers.
