FLORES, EUSTOLIA JUAREZ  
Eustolia Juarez Flores, 83, of Brownsville, Texas, was received into the embrace of our Heavenly Father on April 28, 2015 after a short illness. She was born and raised in Estacion Rascon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In the early 1950's she moved to Brownsville seeking and finding the American Dream. She enjoyed life to the fullest surrounded by those she loved. As a wife and homemaker, she raised 13 children with the help of the Lord. She was a devout Christian Catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish and San Eugenio Parish. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; Ramon Flores, her sons; Isaac Flores, infant Ramon Flores, her parents; Jose and Jacinta Juarez, her siblings; Raul and Emerenciana. Mrs. Flores is survived by her beloved children; Jose Luis (Margarita) Flores of Brownsville, Ramon Flores of Brownsville, Rosie (Jaime) Flores of Harlingen, David (Theresa) Flores of Fort Worth, Adrian Flores (Irma) of San Antonio, Jose Jorge of Lansing, Michigan, Isabel (Sam) Boswell of San Benito, Maria Teresa (Jim) Harris of Lake McQueeny, Anna (Gabriel) Flores of Brownsville, Juan Flores of Austin and Frank (Ron) Flores of Houston. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, Adolfo, Adan, Esperanza, Arturo and Luz Juarez. Mrs. Flores (Mama Tola) is also survived by 33 Granchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren who were the loves of her life. Her passing will forever leave an absence in the hearts of those who loved her so dearly. Eustolia will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, generosity, love for her family and her community, and above all, her faith. Visitation 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today Friday, May 1, 2015 at Treviño Funeral Home South Chapel with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, May 2 , 2015 at Treviño Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart at 12:30 p.m. for a 1 p.m. funeral mass on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 E. FLORES, LUIS JORGE  
Luis Jorge Flores 57, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 in San Antonio, TX. after a seven month courageous battle with cancer. George, as he was affectionally called, was born in Brownsville, TX on April 24th, 1958. He graduated from Homer Hanna High School, Texas Southmost College and the University of Texas Brownsville. He then entered the Police Academy in Austin, Texas for training and became a Texas State Trooper in May 1982. He was stationed in Friona, Texas, and later transferred to Amarillo, Texas. From there he was sent to San Antonio where the remained until his retirement after twenty-seven years of law enforcement service. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jesus R. and Maria C. Flores, maternal grandparents, Juan R. and Elvira H. Serrano. His father, Jesus J. (Jesse) Flores, his aunt Mercedes Aleman, cousin David J. Cavazos, and his niece Jennifer D. Flores. George is survived by the love of his life, Ida. His mother and stepfather, Estela S. and Rodolfo Trujillo, Jr. of Brownsville. His siblings, Norma L. (David) Davila of San Antonio, Armando J. (Delia) Flores of Brownsville, Gilbert R. Flores of Mesquite, Texas. His step-siblings, Lourdes M. (Michael) Aguilar of Lubbock, Texas, Rudy G. Trujillo of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Ruth Ann (Gary) Garcia of Lovington, New Mexico. His Uncle Jorge Flores of the Philippine Islands, and his aunt Rosario F. Cavazos, of Brownsville. His nieces and nephews, Laura T. Davila of San Antonio, Sarah J. Davila of San Marcos, Texas, Michael A. Flores of Brownsville and Alex M. Flores of Brownsville. Also James Cavazos, Cynthia Cavazos, Sandra Cavazos, and Christina Cavazos, all of Brownsville. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and photography. He always carried a camera and a joke where ever he went, and he was an experienced photographer, but his passion was motorcycles. He and his wife Ida loved to ride their bike all over the beautiful hill country every chance they got. Visitation and a rosary were held Monday, April 27, 2015 at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Cathedral followed by the Committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park. FREEBERG, DR. DIAMANTINA GARZA "DIAMOND"  
Dr. Diamantina "Diamond" Garza Freeberg passed away peacefully on April 30, 2015 at McAllen Heart Hospital. Born in 1945 to Ygnacio and Diamantina Garza in Brownsville, Texas, she was a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas with a B.A. in English and a graduate of The University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma with an M.A. in Experimental Psychology and Ed.D. in Research and Education. With a passion for education, she spent over 35 years of her life dedicated to teaching students and advancing the quality of education available in the Rio Grande Valley. Serving as a professor, chairman and associate dean, she saw college education in Brownsville transform from Texas Southmost College to the University of Texas at Brownsville and recently the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. In addition, for two decades, she spent her summers mentoring and teaching staff and guiding campers at Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, Texas. The mark she made on all she encountered, but especially at the University and Greene Family Camp will be forever remembered. Her unwavering dedication to the University is matched only by her love for her family. She especially loved spending time with her husband on and near the water and seeing her children pursue their dreams and accomplish their goals. She will be remembered for her unfailing integrity, her passionate pursuit of educational advancement for all and the love for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ygnacio and Diamantina Garza. She is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughter Lesley, husband John and granddaughter, Lily; and her sons: Dr. Sheldon Freeberg and Adrian Freeberg. Alicia C. Garcia, 88, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May, 1, 2015, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Alicia was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was a devoted wife and mother who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family but by all those fortunate to have known her. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Gomez and Manuel Cantu Lapierre; and her husband, Mariano Garcia Chapa. Alicia is survived by her children, Mariano Garcia III, Sandra A. (Richard) Lizardi, Carlota (Dwayne+) Tyner, and Lupita Garcia Holsch; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015 and continue through 6:30 p.m. in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Darling-Mouser. Rosaura "Rosie" Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with a chronic illness on Monday, April 27th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca and Mariano Garcia: her siblings: Raul Garcia, Genaro "Gene" Garcia and Rebecca "Becky" Meyer; her sister-in-laws, Marjorie Garcia and Barbara J. Garcia; a nephew, Alex Garcia; a niece-in-law, Lois Garcia and a niece, Mary Elizabeth Meyer. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Ann Garcia (Hermerlinda Mendez); her grandson, Jacob Blair Garcia-Gonzales; her granddaughter, Ashley Ingram; her sister, Delfina Medina all of Brownsville and her brother, Mariano Garcia Jr (Maria Mercedes) of California as well as all her special nephews, nieces, and cousins from Texas to California and in Mexico. She is also survived and will be missed by her caregiver and friend, Rosie Cantu.
