ANDRES "ANDY" VILLARREAL

Andres "Andy" Villarreal, 83, entered into the eternal rest of Jesus Christ, on May 14, 2013, in Paducah, Kentucky.

Andy, a native of Brownsville, Texas, was predeceased by his parents, Inez and Jose Villarreal, and brother, Jose Villarreal. He moved to Paducah, Kentucky, in 2002, to live with his sisters, Concepcion "Concha" Villarreal and Lydia Leonard, both of whom preceded Andy in death.

He is survived by his two sisters and their spouses: Connie and Albert Bielke of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Inez and James Rush, of Williston, Vermont. He leaves loving memories to be cherished by multi-generational nieces and nephews and their families, including: Albert Bielke Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas (children: Valerie Bielke Roel and Thomas Bielke); Richard Bielke of Yuma, Ariz., (children: Christopher, Erica, and Elena Bielke); Michael and Sandra Bielke of New Braunfels, Texas (U.S. Army P.F.C. Alana Rae Bielke); Carl Bielke of Corpus Christi, Texas (children: Carl, David, and Eric Bielke); Margaret and Brian Dillingham of Houston, Texas (children: Grayson and Avery Dillingham); Patricia Villarreal of Milwaukee, Wis.; Carmen Villarreal of Boerne, Texas (Adrianna and Clara Villarreal); Larry and Laura Leonard of Houston, Texas (Gillian Leonard); and Dr. Larry and Laura Skinner of Paducah, Ky. (children: Blair, Michelle, Nathan, Wesley, and Carey Skinner).

Andy maintained a devotion to church and daily mass and spent most of his active life in Brownsville serving as a sacristan for the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked for the original Walgreens in downtown Brownsville and for the Brownsville Independent School District, before retiring in 1999. This verse from Proverbs 22:4 summarizes Andy's life best, "By humility and fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life."
