Emelina M. Amador, 59, our beloved adopted "mother," "grandmother," and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas.

Emily, as she was affectionately known to all, was born in East Chicago, Ill., but had been a lifetime resident of Brownsville.

Emily graduated from Brownsville High School and then received her BA from the Pan American University in Edinburg. Upon graduation she began a career with BISD which would span 29 years as a Math teacher. She retired due to health issues having taught at Cummings Middle School for a number of years.

Emily was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Martina R. and Nicolas Martin; her beloved husband who was waiting for her with open arms, Guillermo "Willie" Amador Jr.; and her beloved collies, Tammy and Prince.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her adopted family, Sylvia and Ricardo Flores and their children, Ricardo Jr., Patricia, and Diana; her faithful companion her pet dog, Muñequita; and numerous friends.

Visitation and a rosary service were held yesterday at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

A Liturgical Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, July 12, 2013, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 U.S. Military Highway 281, in Brownsville, Texas.

Committal services will follow at El Calaboz Cemetery in El Calaboz, Texas.
