Rodolfo J. Cantu Sr.

Sgt. Rodolfo J. Cantu Sr., BPD, Ret, was called to be with the Lord on Oct. 27, 2012. Sgt. Cantu served his country in the U.S. Army and his community for 24 years with the Brownsville Police Department. He was a dedicated, devoted, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Although he had many interests, family was always his priority.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Emilia P. Cantu. He is survived by his loving wife Delia M. Cantu; his three children Nora D. Suarez, Laura G. Cantu, Rudy J. Cantu Jr. (Elida); and by eight loving grandkids: Billy Perez, Allison Suarez, Ashley K. Perez, Brittney Suarez, Joseph Perez, Jacob Perez, Rudy J. (RJ) Cantu III, and Stephanie Emilia Cantu. He will be missed and remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.

Visitation will take place today, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 1 - 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary Catholic Church in Brownsville on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions to offset medical and funeral costs would be humbly and sincerely appreciated.
