URBANO HERRERA(1961 - 2014)

Urbano "Uva" Herrera, 52, of Houston, formerly of Brownsville, TX passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.

Born July 28, 1961 in Brownsville, TX, Urbano was the son of the late Romualdo Herrera Sr. and Paulina Zuniga Herrera.

Urbano was a graduate of Gladys Porter High School and University of Texas at Brownsville.

He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

He was currently employed at Dannenbaum Engineering Corp as an Engineer Designer III.

Left to cherish his memory and greatly missed by his son, Alexandro Ray Herrera; wife and mother of his child, Shanda Hoosier, both of Tennessee. His mother, Paulina Zuniga Herrera of Brownsville and also survived by his brothers and sisters Romualdo and (Alma) Herrera , Alvaro and (Carolina) Herrera of Brownsville, Yolanda and (Raul) Ruiz of Dallas, Eleazar (Viviana) Herrera of Houston, Ricardo Herrera of Brownsville, Flora (James) Cruz of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Mark, Cindy, Lori, Teresa, Alvaro Jr., Nicole, Abbie, Ricardo, Gina, Sammy and Veronica Herrera; Michelle and Enrique Ruiz, Ceci and Emma Cruz. Great nieces and nephews are Alliyah Herrera, Sabino Aguilar, Diem Huerta, Nicolas Emiliano Herrera, Matthew Nicholas Diaz, Eric Rivera, Eva Lynn Prado and a host of family and friends.

Services will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with visitation at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2014 and Wednesday, Jan. 05, 2014, with a chapel service at 2 p.m., presiding by Rev. Roberto Hernandez follow by the interment to Guillen Cemetery in Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485.Pf
