He is preceded in death by Grandparents Serapion M. Castaneda, and Carlos Hernandez.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Corina and Serapion Castaneda; Spouse: Michelle Garcia; children: Carlee Castaneda (7), Caylee Castaneda (3), Chaylee Castaneda (2); siblings: David Castaneda, Serapion A. Castaneda, Santiago Castaneda, and Javier Hernandez Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 3-9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Serving as pallbearers: David Castaneda, Serapion A Castaneda, Santiago Castaneda, Javier Hernandez Jr., Javier Trevino, Juan Cardenas, and Horacio Ramirez III. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. (956) 350-8485

Carlos Castaneda, a great heart and bold spirit. When I met carlos he was but a boy still in middle school. We had just moved in naiberhood and he was walking his Sharpe. He walked up to other family and randomly asked "ya wanna buy pitbull puppies"( His father ran his own little business on the side). After that I met his warm welcoming family and a bond between us was born. For many years we did fun things together, fishing was one of his favorites. As the years went by we began to part our different ways and we both started our own families. I only wish I could have said goodbye to my once great friend. My condolences go out to the Castaneda Family

You will be greatly missed, you were a devoted father, son and most of all a great friend to everyone especially me. You helped when i had no one else to turn to one time and u did not stop until you knew i was ok, you never gave up on me and thats kind of who you were a person who never gave up on anyone, so im sure god picked you to be with him because you were one of his strongest angels and he needed you. Carlitos Your burgers will always be ready for you at Charlie's.
To the Castañeda Family my deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. May god grant you the love to go through this hard time, but may he always grant you the peace to know he will be ok! He is with the lord now not only protecting you but as we all know carlos, he's probably doing his thing up there too, making people laugh and smile.

Dear Brother, Corina, Michy and family,
I offer my sympathies for the sudden loss of Carlitos. I wish with all of my heart that I had the words to take away your pain and sorrow but sometimes words are just not enough. Please accept our deepest condolences. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
To Carlitos: I love you very much and will miss your smile. I find comfort in knowing that you are now with your grandpa's in heaven watching over you. We love you very much and will never forget you.

May you rest in the Lord's presence for you have gained your angel wings in heaven, may our Lord give peace in every single family member and console them in such a hard time as this, and you will deeply be missed by all your co-workers at IES, cuz you will always be remembered as a kind, helping, joking person, always wearing that smile, still can't believe you're gone, so quick, but only God knows why he took you sooner, when God takes us it's like God goes into His garden and picks the most prettiest flower from His garden only God knows when He takes us and when but all I can say is you were a great person and great co-worker YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED
