Obituary Condolences

Carmen C. Garza, 91, a longtime resident of Olmito, Texas, was called home while surrounded in the loving embrace of all her daughters and two granddaughters.

She was married to Felipe De Jesus Garza and widowed at the age of 49. She singly raised her children beautifully.

Carmen was a child of God and an adoring mother. Her passion was caring for others. She was an avid gardener. She was loved by many but especially her children. All who knew her were fortunate to have met her.

Carmen is survived by her five daughters Salome Fierros, Hermelinda Garza, Elvia (Juan) M. Garcia, Oralia Guajardo and Jane (Albert) A. Carrion. Also surviving are daughter-in-law Eduarda Garza, two sisters, Raquel and Virginia Cruz; two brothers, Lorenzo and Guadalupe Cruz; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held today, Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
