Enrique Xavier Rodriguez went to be with our Lord on Oct. 25, 2012. He was born Nov. 25, 1950, in Brownsville, Texas. He retired from Quality Carriers Trucking as he became ill. He had also worked for Sysco Foods as a driver. Enrique attended Brownsville High School and served in the United States Marine Corps for a short while. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Pan American Golf Association. His favorite pastime was spent on the golf course, in his words "Among where my friends are at."|
He is preceded in death by his parents Martiriano and Josefina Rodriguez; three brothers Ignacio, Martiriano Jr., and Santos; nephew SSGT Joseph Rodriguez.
Enrique leaves behind his children Margaret Ann, Enrique Jr., Roy R., and Leo L. Rodriguez; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters Rosie Martinez, Toni Lopez, and Mary Lou Rodriguez; brothers Juan, Roberto of Brownsville, Rev. Deacon Eleazar of Corpus Christi, Roger of Harlingen, and Carlos of Houston. Also a favorite and loving nephew and roommate Daniel Rodriguez. One aunt, Florence Barron of Brownsville; one uncle, Juan Rodriguez from San Antonio. He is survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family wishes to thank Valley Baptist Hospital ER, ICU, Radiology Units and Staff. It also wishes to thank those at Odyssey Hospice for all their care. And special thanks to The Aurora Home Staff in Weslaco for all their love and care.
Public visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Treviño Funeral Home with a wake service and recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
