Gonzalo Garcia, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Brownsville, Texas.|
Gonzalo served in The Army from June 15, 1967 to May 26, 1969 as well as Army Reserve from 1973-1978.
Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his parents, Ventura P. Garica and Bernarda V. Garcia; brothers, Roman Garcia, Ventura Garcia Jr. and Fernando Garcia.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Hortencia Garcia; son, Gonzalo Garcia Jr.; daughters, Norma Garcia and Denise Garces Garcia; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Francisco V. Garcia; sisters, Juanita G. Gonzalez, Altagracia G. Dimas (Jesus); and numerous nieces & nephews; stepsisters, Lupita Guzman and Rosa G. Ruiz.
Visitation was held on, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 12 noon to 10 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A chapel service will be held today, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with interment to follow at Rio Grande Valley Veteran's State Cemetery in Mission at 2520 South Inspiration Road.
Full military honors will be provided.
