Guillermo A. Cerda, 17, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.|
Guillermo was a student at Homer Hanna High School in Brownsville where he was a member of ROTC Club, Bowling and Special Olympics. He had a passion for wrestling and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Manuel Sr and Maria de Jesus Azocar; and paternal grandparents, Guillermo Cerda and Josefina Orozco.
He is survived by his loving parents, Felix and Gregoria Azocar-Cerda; aunts Elvida A. (Silvano) Cruces and Maria Nelda Mendez; uncle Leonel De Leon, and numerous other maternal aunts and unlces. He is also survived by several cousins and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 25, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville.
A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 26, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home, with cremation to follow service.
