Rev. Dr. Jesse E. Simmons entered into eternal rest at his home on November 3, 2012 in Brownsville.|
He was born in Arcadia, Fla., on March 12, 1932. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a man of many different occupations during his lifetime but he was most proud when he became an ordained spiritualist minister in 1984 in Sedona, Ariz.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Frances Simmons; four sons, Wayne Simmons (Esther) of Fort Worth, Bryan Simmons of Houston, Kenneth Simmons of Victoria, Texas, Daniel Simmons (Patricia) of Corpus Christi; and one daughter, Beverly Saenz (Beto). He has nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Thomas Simmons of Arcadia, Fla., and a sister, Peggy Van Velck also of Arcadia, Fla. Jesse will be profoundly missed by all his family and friends.
His wishes at the time of his death were that his body be donated to medical science. There will be a celebration of life at a later date to be announced by his family.
