Jose Angel "Angelo" Gonzalez, born May 31, 1935, in Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was laid to rest at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, after a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Corpus, Christi, Texas on Jan. 22, 2013.

Known by his family and friends as "Angelo" he will be remembered for his Great Spirit, enthusiasm, joy, especially for his love of fishing; when with his family was a kid at heart and the life of the party.

Jose Angel was an Educator/Administrator, Realtor/Broker, Master Mason/Shriner and a Veteran having served in the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Juanita Gonzalez, four brothers Gonzalo, Guadalupe Carlos, Jimmy, Rene and one sister Esther La Bove.

Jose Angel is survived by his wife Iza Alaniz Gonzalez, sons Edward Gonzalez (Angela), Daniel Gonzalez, daughter, Vanessa Gonzalez-Orr (David), as well as three sisters, Eva Garza, Irene Catarina Hanna, Gloria Hagy (Donald), two brothers Miguel Gonzalez, Albert Gonzalez, sister-in-law Maria Magdalena (Nena) Gonzalez and five grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers were Edward Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez, Ramey Gutierrez, Ron Gutierrez, Randy Hanna and Reggie Hanna.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Memorial.
