JOSE MANUEL Obituary
"JM" GARCIA

Jose M. Garcia, 55, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas.

He graduated from high school and went to the university where he received his teaching degree.

During his thirty years of teaching, he taught at B.I.S.D and most recently at Premier High School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 29 years. He was the Third and Fourth Degree, former faithful Navigator, and the Columbus Club. He loved Brownsville, and loved being a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jose cherished his family. First in his life was his wife, children, grandchildren, and sisters. He enjoyed walking early in the morning with his dogs, Rocco and Spartagus, and playing with his cats in the evening. Jose's relaxing time was working in the yard. He loved life, he was always smiling, and he always saw the good in people. He had a big, forgiving, loving heart. He always spoke highly of the staff where he worked and of all his students. He took great pride and joy in teaching, listening to them, and watching them graduate. Everyone who knew him from infancy knew him as "Baby" and friends knew him as "JM". May God rest his soul and smile down at all of us.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Ninfa Treviño Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia T. Garcia; his son, Johnathan Garcia; his daughter, Jean Marie Garcia Molina; his five sisters, Lydia Garcia, Ninfa Garcia Martinez, Irma Garcia, Minerva Garcia Sauceda, and Linda Garcia; and his aunt, Zoila Cisneros. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home North Chapel.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Services will conclude at the church.
