Juan Ramos, 55, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born and a native of Brownsville.|
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Border Lions Club. He graduated from Gladys Porter High School, Class of 1976.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rafael Ramos, and two nephews, Juan Carlos "Charlie" Ramos and Pablo "Nune" Ramos Jr.
He is survived by his loving mother, Candelaria Vela Ramos, his partner in life, Diana De la Garza, his brothers and sisters, Pablo Ramos Sr. (Yolanda) of Olmito, Texas, Rafael Ramos Jr. (Mary) and Maria Antonia Gamez both of Brownsville, Texas, Maria Gloria Ramos (Modesto Yado) of La Belle, Fla. and Margarita Guerra of Bonita Springs, Fla. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Visitation will be from at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., today at the Delta Chapel. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Buena Vista Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Oscar Martinez, Albert (Chuca) Martinez, Alfonso (Poncho) Gonzales, Eladio (Pookie) Cuellar, Joel (Jammer) Tabares, Noe Tabares, Charlie Williams, and Hector Zamarripa.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Ramos, Luis Ramos, Jaime Ramos, Salvador Gamez, Pablo Ramos III, Joey Perez, and Modesto Yado Jr.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Delta Funeral Directors; family owned and operated 542-2222.
