Judge William "Billy" Abney Faulk Sr., 89, passed away at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Judge Faulk was a Brownsville native, born to Ruth Abney Faulk† and Harry Lee Faulk, Sr.†.

He is survived by his brother, Harry Lee Faulk, Jr. and sister, Patsy Faulk Horick.

Judge Faulk was married to Bobbie Anne Brown Faulk for 62 years and blessed with seven children; Judy Faulk, David Wise, Rebecca Faulk Thompson, William A. "Rusty" Faulk, Jr.†, Linda Faulk Arteaga, John Faulk, and Molly Faulk. He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A veteran of both World War II and later, the Korean War, Billy Faulk was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin Law School. Judge Faulk began his law career with Sharp, Cunningham and Garza in 1952. Later, he owned and operated Cameron County Title Company and served as Brownsville Municipal Court Judge for 13 years; then, practiced with the Rentfro Faulk Law Firm and most recently, operating his own private practice, William A.
