Obituary Condolences

Maria Alvina Ramirez Bossom passed away at the age of 80 after a 14-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Maria Ramirez, a sister, Florence Lopez, as well as her husband of 47 years, Nathan Bossom, and a son, Alan Bossom.

Mary is survived by four siblings: Juanita Ramirez, Amelia Sanchez, Alfonso Ramirez, Jr., and Esther Hinojosa. She also leaves behind two children, James (Diane) Bossom, and Brenda (Robert) Watson, as well as grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and other relatives. She is also survived by her longtime best friend and caretaker, Esperanza Obregon.

There will be visitation beginning at 9 a.m., with a rosary/memorial service at 11 a.m. at Trevino Funeral Home on Saturday, May 5, 2012. The rosary will be led by the Honorable Eddie Lucio Jr. A private burial will be held at a later time where she will be with her late husband's remains at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
