Gilbert A. De Leon, 72, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Brownsville, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. De Leon proudly served in the U.S. Army and he was a Vietnam Veteran. He served his country from November 1964 to March 1967.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Natividad P. Munivez; his father, Jesus De Leon Sr.; his aunt, Concepcion Garzoria; his uncle, Jose P. Munivez; and brothers-in-law, Jose M. Espinoza, and Juan Garcia (JP).
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Maria E. De Leon; his mother, Ignacia C. Munivez; son, Gilbert De Leon Jr.; daughters, Christine De Leon Sanchez (Daniel Sanchez), Cynthia De Leon Luis (Arthur T. Luis), Michelle Angelique De Leon, and Roxanna Manjarrez (Robert Manjarrez); his brother, Jesse De Leon; and sister, Gloria Garcia (+ Juan Garcia (JP)). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, with Services beginning at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will conclude at this time.
