Michael Dean Benton, 67, of Winnabow, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Wilmington Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Brunswick County on Feb. 4, 1946, the son of the late Marcella and Addie Cumbee Benton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by two children, Christopher Benton and Tracy Hickman of Wilmington; three brothers, Conrad Benton of Winnabow, the Rev. Martin Linwood Benton of Delco, the Rev. Kenneth Benton of Middlesex; three sisters, Nettie Jane Taylor of Warner Robbins, Ga., Marjorie Wolfe of Winnabow, Cheryl Hollis of Hampstead; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service was Saturday June 29, 2013, at New Hope Presbyterian Church officiated by his brothers, the Revs. Martin Linwood Benton and Kenneth Benton.
