Eloise Simmons Chappell of Ash, born on May 25, 1922, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin Garfield and Lucy King Simmons; husband, Zeno Inman; daughter and son, Geraldine and Shelton Inman; husband, William (Jack) Chappell; a grandson, Benjamin Lamar Hickman; and seven brothers and sisters.
She was born in Brunswick County and was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of Myrtle Head Baptist Church and loved the entire church family that she was proud to be a part of.
Surviving are a daughter, Patsy Hickman (Marvin) of Newport Richey, Fla.; two sons, William Chappell (Linda) of Ash, and Chris Chappell (Delinda) of Calabash; a daughter-in-law, Martha Inman of Ash; a sister, Grace Young of Ash; grandchildren, Delores (Jimmy) Wolfe, Delane (Christy) Chappell, Christy (Greg) Bland, Matt (Candy) Chappell, Billy (Jenny) Inman, Gwen (Neil) King, Sadie (Lamar) Hickman, Amanda (Matt) Murphy; 16 great-grandchildren; and many special friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, from Myrtle Head Baptist Church by the Rev. Elbert Braswell, the Rev. Wayne Faulk and the Rev. Brent Evans.
Burial followed in New Britton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Delane and Matt Chappell, Billy Inman, Greg Bland, Neil King, Matt Murphy and Jimmy Wolfe.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home.

Eloise was a wonderful friend/cousin-in-law and her humor will always be remembered. She cherished her family and friends and those who knew her will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry to hear that Aunt Weese has passed on but I know she is in a better place. I can almost hear her greeting my mother, Miss Annie. My deepest sympathy to her family
