Sheilah Mae Harrell, 62, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia. Born in Wilmington on Jan. 19, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harrell Jr. and Myrtle Rivenbark Harrell. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry "Hank" Harrell III and David Harrell. She was a graduate of New Hanover High School in 1970. She graduated with a degree in Recreation Therapy from the Caldwell Community College in Lenoir. She worked for many years for JP Russ and Sons Construction Company in Ocean Isle Beach, and Raggedy Ann & Andy Day Care in Charlotte. She had a great love and connection to the ocean, the beach and the sea life that calls it home. She was also an animal supporter and caregiver with many pets that she loved dearly. Survivors include a sister, Sharon Brady and husband, Jan, of Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, Fred Harrell and wife, Suzanne, of Wilmington; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; an extended family of special friends, Glenda Saintsing, Kat Messenger, Sue Patterson and her Seaside North Community of friends and neighbors. She wished to express her gratitude and love for all their friendship and care. She was very appreciative of her nephew, Chris Harrell, for his love and care during her illness. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev.
