Hallstein, Nancy Lee - Pittsburgh  
Nancy Lee Hallstein passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015. She was born May 22, 1942, in Glendale, W.Va., the daughter of Lawrence William and Margaret Ruth (Seal) Johnson. Nancy grew up in Bethel Park, Pa., and graduated in 1960 from Bethel Park High School. She then attended Robert Morris Business College, where she completed a secretarial and office management degree. For a number of years she worked at the downtown Pittsburgh office of Mellon Bank and later became a rural mail carrier in Sewickley Borough. Nancy also worked independently as a gardener and landscaper. She enjoyed raising and showing Great Danes. Nancy married Frederick Henry Hallstein Jr., on Nov. 10, 1986. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling, going to Canada and Holland and taking a weeklong float trip through the Grand Canyon. In 2001, they moved from Sewickley to Carolina Shores, where they enjoyed working in their yard and going to the beach to walk, read, and fly kites. After Fred died in 2002, Nancy maintained their home there and made many friends. On July 11, 2014, Nancy moved to Wooster due to failing health. Nonetheless, she continued to enjoy reading, gardening and working on counted cross-stitch designs. She loved Christmas and decorating, however for the first time in many years, she was unable to build a model train platform. Surviving Nancy are a sister, Barbara (Ronald) Hustwit of Wooster; a brother, Roger (Ann) Johnson of Kensington, Md.; six nieces and nephews; as well as by three great-nieces and two great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's name to HOLLY House Inc., 217 East Larwill St., Wooster, OH 44691. There will be no services. Nancy's ashes will be scattered with those of her husband at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mcintirebradhamsleek.com. Hewett, Charles Edward "Floppy" - 3. Brunswick  
Charles Edward "Floppy" Hewett ,76, of Bolivia, died Tuesday April 28, 2015, at his home. Mr. Hewett was born in Brunswick County on Dec. 9, 1938, and was the son of the late Herbert and Edna Lewis Hewett. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He retired from the Town of Holden Beach Utility Department. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette S. Hewett of the home; two children, Susan Hirst and husband, Mike, of Smithfield, Va., Randy Hewett and wife, Angie, of Bolivia; grandchildren, Jonathan Hirst, Anthony Hirst (Sarah), Nicole H. Powell (Mason), Jayden Hewett, Keithian Hewett; great-granddaughter, Emma Powell; a brother, Sammy Hewett of Bolivia; and a sister, Mavis Palmeter of Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday April 30, at White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel, 603 Ocean Highway, Supply with the Rev. Jack Edge officiating. Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The family would to give a special thanks to Dr. George Sylvestri and the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care given to Mr. Hewett during his illness. Hicks, Patricia E. - Winnabow  
Patricia E. Hicks, 62, of Winnabow, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Patricia was born in New Hanover County on Oct. 6, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Earl Bond and Florence Moore Bond. She is survived by her husband, Donald Hicks; two daughters, Florence Stanley of Winnabow and Kristie Bernard of Supply; a son, Anthony Jackson of Leland; two brothers, Harry Bond of Wilmington and Woody Bond of Sanford; a sister, Adelaide Evans of Wales; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday afternoon, April 25, at White Funeral Service Chapel in Supply with the Rev. Kevin Barnette officiating. A reception followed at the funeral home. Hoffman, Sarah Jane (Wright) - Niskayuna  
Sarah Jane Wright Hoffman, 83, of Niskayuna, N.Y., ended her courageous fight Friday, April 17, 2015. Born in Bladenboro, she was the daughter of the late Jack Guy Wright and Annie Belle Pait Wright. She met her future husband and the love of her life, William G. Hoffman, at a soda fountain in North Carolina, and from there moved to Rotterdam N.Y., where she raised her three children. Sarah loved traveling, gardening, cooking, long walks and people. She was warm and generous to all and everyone loved her. When Bill retired she moved back to her beloved North Carolina where she enjoyed long walks on the beach and visiting with her siblings. In her later years, she moved back to Niskayuna to be with her children. She is survived by Vivian (Daniel) Galli, Paul (Eva) Hoffman and John (Karen) Hoffman. Her grandchildren are Cassandra, Connor, Adam, Ryan, Zachary, Sarah and Mark. She is also survived by her siblings, Maxine (John) Mumaw, James (Betty) Wright, Pauline (Arthur) Lancaster and Linda (Junior) Bryant; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the memory of Sarah Jane Hoffman at Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. There will be a private memorial.
