Lamb Jr., James Berry "Jay" - Shallotte  
James Berry "Jay" Lamb Jr., age 59, of Shallotte, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born in Robeson County, on Dec. 6, 1955, to the late James Berry Lamb Sr. and Mary Britt Lamb. He worked as a manager for Advance Auto. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, C.J. Otis. Mr. Lamb is survived by his mother, Mary Britt Lamb of the home; a daughter, Sonja Nicole Otis (Terrence) of Coats; a sister, Cherri Ellen Kirk of Poca, W.Va.; and one grandchild, Bella Otis. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc., 809 East 5th St. in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Floyd Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Stephens officiating. Burial will follow the service in New Hollywood Cemetery. Little, Rebecca - Ash  
Rebecca Little of Ash, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in her home at the age of 75. Mrs. Little was born in Brunswick County on June 17, 1939, to the late Linwood Phelps and Edna Hewett Phelps. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Parker, and great-grandson, Austin Little. She was the owner of Becky's Seafood and a member of Camp Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, McKinley Little of the home; her son, Kenneth Little (Lisa) of Whiteville; her daughters, Debbie Parker of Ash and Sue Hightower of Wadesboro; her brother, James Phelps of Key West, Fla.; her sisters, Doris Scott of Shallotte Point and Fran Peake of Perry, Ga.; grandchildren, Daniel Little, Donna Clayton, Meredith Hightower and Franklin Hightower; great-grandchildren, Tristen Little, Cole Little, Lauren Clayton, Elijah Hightower, Ryan Clayton and Erin Clayton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Camp Branch MissionaryBaptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Caines and Leroy Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family's home, 5675 Green Swamp Road, Ash. Long, Kathleen Davis - Nakina  
Kathleen Davis Long, 65, of Nakina, died Saturday, March 21, 2015. Born in Lumberton on March 5, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Susan Britt Davis. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Long Grice of Nakina, Wanda Long Singletary of Nakina and Lois Ann Long Brown of Aiken, Ga.; four brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 24, at Friendship Baptist Church, Ash. The burial followed in the Ward cemetery. The family received friends prior to services at the church. Lynch Jr., The Rev. Daniel Luke - 3. Brunswick  
The Rev. Daniel Luke Lynch Jr., of Ocean Isle Beach, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, at the age of 84. He was born "on the side of Tater Hill" in Mullens, W.Va., on Sept. 27, 1930, to parents Daniel Luke and Ruth Akers Lynch. In 1941 he moved to Roanoke, Va., and attended Roanoke public schools, graduating from Jefferson High School in 1949. Daniel joined the Army Air Force in 1950 and served as a staff sergeant for three years in Japan during the Korean War. He received the Good Conduct, Korean Service, United Nations Service and National Defense Service medals. After discharge from the Air Force, he entered the University of Virginia and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Dan remained a dedicated fan of UVA sports. That same year he married Martha Martin and moved to Roanoke, where he began his career as an award winning salesman for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. In 1971 he moved to Bridgeport, W.Va., and became a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the vestry. In his late forties, Dan became an avid runner and participated in many road races around the state of West Virginia. At the age of 50, he ran his first marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. In 1988, Dan took early retirement from the Pfizer Corporation and entered Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria,Va. He graduated in 1991 with a Master in Divinity degree and began a second career as a parish priest, serving at churches in Charleston, Logan and Williamson, W.Va. He moved to Ocean Isle Beach in 2003 and began serving as interim and supply priest at churches in North and South Carolina. Even in retirement, he remained active until the last year of his life. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his son, Daniel "Pete" Luke III (Teresa); daughters, Susan Atkinson of Bridgeport, W.Va., and Annie Lynch of Taylor Mill, Ky.; two stepsons, Steve Carnohan (Karen) of Birmingham, Ala., and Scott Carnohan of Richmond, Va.; and grandchildren: Jasen and Joe Reppert of Bridgeport, Bonnie Wood (J.C.) of Hawaii, Alex and Daniel Atkinson of Bridgeport, Molly and Luke Lynch of Pinehurst, Lindsay Carnohan of Birmingham, Ala., Paige and Hailey Carnohan of Richmond; and one great-grandson, Jackson Wood of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by Martha "Sweetie" Martin, his wife of 23 years; one daughter, Elizabeth Ruth; siblings, Dorothea Edwards and Elmer and Roy Lynch; and parents Daniel and Ruth Lynch. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Shallotte, with the Rt. Rev. Robert Stuart Skirving and the Rev. David Davis officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall immediately following the service. Osborne, Dr. Willie Farell - Supply  
Dr. Willie Farell Osborne, 72, of Supply, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Dr. Osborne was born in Unicoi County, Tenn., on Nov. 29, 1942, and was the son of the late Carl and Myrtle Brumitt Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Osborne; two children, Zack Osborne of Florence, S.C., and Leslie Swiatocho of Supply; five grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Osborne of Hampton, Tenn., Roby Osborne of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Raymond Osborne of Unicoi; and a sister, Ruth Garland of Johnson City, Tenn. A service to give honor to God and celebrate the life of Dr. Osborne was held Saturday afternoon March 21, at Bible Baptist Church, Supply. Pastor Chris Swiatocho officiated. The family received friends at the church prior to the service. An additional visitation was Monday morning, March 23, at Memorial Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tenn., followed by a graveside service at Lyons Cemetery. Lila June Punch, 89, of Supply, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her residence. Ms. Punch was born in Harrison County, W.Va., on Sept. 29, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Arden Leroy Logue and Essie Wilson Logue. Surviving are two children, Karen Kerley of Supply and son, Kenneth Pitts of Tyler, Texas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Ada Ruth "Mickey" Robinson, 92, of Supply, died Thursday, March 19, 2015. Mrs. Robinson was born in Brunswick County on June 7, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Lennox and Kate Elizabeth Moore Gore. She was the wife of the late Stetson Robinson and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Kate Holden; two sons-in-law, Kermit Holden and Edward Caison. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Caison of Supply, Debbie Sellers and husband Larry, of Supply; seven grandchildren, Kenny Holden, Lisa Joyner, Jennifer Holden, Robin Fulwood, Beth Clewis, Erica Long, Adam Sellers; great-grandchildren, Caison, Savannah, Owen, Maggie, Edward, Logan, Carly, Wyatt and very soon to be, Stetson; and a sister, Evelyn Whitmire of Supply. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Sharon United Methodist Church with Pastor Eddie Hill officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Avis C. Starnes, 96, of Supply, died Monday, March 9, 2015. Mrs. Starnes was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Prattville, Ala., and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ida Jacks Cooper. She is survived by a son, Newman Ruff of Supply; three stepdaughters, Nancy Snow of Danville, Va., Sharon Krenshaw of Lancaster, S.C., and Pat Miller of Kentucky; a brother, Malcolm Cooper of Prattville; a sister, Ann Keenar of Plantersville, Ala.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Valdena Williamson, 85, of Shallotte, died Monday, March 23, 2015, in SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, Bolivia. Born in Brunswick County on Dec. 25, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Horton and Lillian Russ Milliken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Williamson. Surviving are her two sons, Glen N. "Ike" Williamson Jr. (Scarlett) and Robert G. "Bobby" Williamson (Donna), all of Shallotte; brother, Alton Milliken (E.B.) of Shallotte; and two grandchildren, Suzanne Kearns (Ben) and Glenn Williamson III; and a great-grandson, Kai Kearns. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Camp United Methodist Church, Shallotte, by the Rev. Richard Vaughan and Al Milliken Jr. Entombment will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
