Amanda Eudell Smith, 91, of Ash, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Brunswick County, a daughter of the late Wade Whit and Stella Smith Babson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lindsey Leo Smith, and a son, Jerry L. Smith.
Surviving are her son, Jackie Smith (Eulonda) of Ash; brothers, Toby Babson (Laurie) of Ash, Burtis Babson (Edith) of Holden Beach and Belton Babson (Becky) of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Donna Faye Stone (Clay) of Reidsville and Wilma Cox (Jack) of Ash; four grandchildren, Tina Simmons, Penny McKeithan, Jacqueline Fulford and Zesta Wooten; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Fulford, Katelyn Simmons, Easton Simmons and Weston McKeithan.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in New Britton Baptist Church by the Revs. Sterling Sarvis and Steve Nobles. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at the funeral home.
Casketbearers were Donald Sellers, Clarence Wooten, Eric Simmons, Mark McKeithan, Ronnie Fulford and Dewayne Simmons.
