Charles Britt

Mr. Charles Edward Britt, 66, of Whiteville, died Saturday, June 8, 2013.
He was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Robeson County, son of the late Lemuel R. and Beatrice Sealey Britt.
He owned and operated Britt's Jewelers in Shallotte and formerly in Whiteville for 34 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Smith Britt; a daughter, Kimberly Britt Palmer of Whiteville; two sons, Charles F. "Chuck" Britt of Shallotte and Jonathan E. "Jon Jon" Britt and wife, Leigh Anne, of Leland; step-sons, Roy Ivey Jr. and Gregory Ivey, both of Evergreen; three grandchildren, Brooke Palmer, Abigail and Lacie Britt; two step- grandchildren, Emily and Bryson Ivey; two sisters, Janice Wood and husband, I.J., of Whiteville and Judy Moore and husband, Terry, of Whiteville; and a brother, Eugene Britt, of Lumberton.
His funeral service was set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with the Revs. David Heller and Mac Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.
