Dot Jane Harvey Neat, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Autumn Care of Shallotte after a long illness.
Born on March 30, 1925, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late William and Ella Mae Harvey.
Dot was a telephone operator with the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C., until she retired in 1985.
Dot loved the Myrtle Beach area and loved every day of her retirement. She was active in the Ladies Club of Timber Ridge Village in North Myrtle Beach. In addition, she spent her time bowling, playing Bingo and doing arts and crafts.
She attended First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach.
Survivors include her two daughters, Toni Zimmerman (Paul) and Suzanne Neat, both of Calabash; one grandson, Andrew (Brandi) of Bristow, Va.; and one great-grandson, Tyler.
She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond; two brothers, William and Edward; one sister, Clara Louise; and her son-in-law, James Kuyawa.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Autumn Care for taking good care of both Ray and Dot.
Dot will be greatly missed by family and friends.
