Duncan McLean, 83, of Morrow, Ga., passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at his residence in Sunset Beach, following an extended illness. Mr. McLean was born July 15, 1930, in Douglas, Ga., to the late C.H. McLean Sr. and Nina Mae Bush McLean.
Mr. McLean was a veteran of the U.S. Navy
and enjoyed fox hunting, raising dogs and gardening.
Survivors include: his wife, Frances S. McLean of Morrow; daughter, Carolyn Tate of Mississippi; stepdaughters, Linda Barron of Georgia and Sharon Stewart of Alabama; stepson, Norman T. Crouch of Georgia; three grandchildren, Suzanne Tate, Sandy Johnson and Cameron Tate, all of Mississippi; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, C.H. McLean Jr.; four sisters, Lucrieta Young, Margaret Simmons, Mary Lou Harper and Frances Farabow; and stepdaughter, Joan Smith.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Oak Grove Methodist Church in Broxton, Ga., with the Rev. Beverly King officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: D.J. Harper, Tommy Farabow, Jerry Simmons, Charles Simmons, Eddie Goodman and George Boyd.
Memorials may be made to a veterans' group of choice.
Sims Funeral Home and Brunswick Funeral Service were in charge of the arrangements.
